Lately, we have decided to not shave Ashton’s head and to let his hair grow out some… one, because he said he did not want to cut it and two, to see what the hell his hair really looks like, since we have absolutely no idea due to us always shaving his head since he was little (will it grow long?  will it afro?  will it be curly?  it’s a mystery).  This morning, I found him in my bathroom, armed with the can of hairspray that is stored under the sink and is ONLY used once a year for Kaiden at dance recital time.  He was spraying his hair and seriously forming his bangs into a “devilock” - forming, then spraying, then forming, then spraying.  The picture below is in the early stages of his creation - a lot more hairspray/point-forming went into the final creation… but he would not let me take any more photos.

I said “Ashton, what in the hell are you doing son?”  and his reply was “WHAT? This looks really cool mom!  I am wearing it like this today!”  And he REALLY believed that it did look really cool.  Except it was not “Misfits” cool like this:

As we pulled up to his summer rec program and Miss Jamie saw us, she commented “WOW Ashton, your hair looks AWESOME buddy!” and he looked right at me and said very loudly (because that is how he rolls) “SEE MOM, I TOLD YOU THIS LOOKED COOL!” I looked at Miss Jamie and rolled my eyes… and she started dying laughing, because she knows Ashton all too well!!!  This boy is going to be the death of me.
