A guy pulled up next to me at the gas pump on this thing with his construction coveralls and hard hat on, he must have been on his way to work.  Obviously someone that has gotten a DUI.  Apparently when your license gets taken away…you can still operate gas powered scooters?  But can you still pick up the ladies on the way to the bar?

I have had a flickr account since flickr was introduced.  I have a yahoo account, so I usually have an account with all things Yahoo based.  I have not really used the flickr account much, here and there for moblogging and to view other people’s pictures, but thats about it.  Once upon a time, I paid to have a photoblog set up that I rarely use, because it is a big fat pain in the ass, making the pictures the right size, then making a thumbnail, then uploading both and posting them - Ugghh!  Total pain, so the photoblog has suffered!!!

So I have finally caved and decided to go ahead and start using flickr™ for all that is can be used for, and now I am slowly but surely getting a buttload of pictures uploaded there.  So for anyone interested, you can find all my flickr photos here. 

Oh and PS - What in the hell is this picture?

There must be what?  Like a gazillion pictures on Flickr?  And of all the photos in the world, they picked this ugly ass picture to be the one we have to stare at everytime we log in?  They put next to it “Love Fun?” - how does this picture make me think of fun things?  That dog does not even look right.

This guy just hit me doing 45mph.  I was at a complete stop.  He is SO lucky my kids are okay and that he had insurance!

On Saturday mornings, Kaiden has Ballet and Tap from 10:45 till 11:45.  My girlfriend Shelly’s daughter Haley is in the same dance class with her, so we use this time to hit up random stores and to go grab some Starbucks - it’s our once a week get-together, since Shelly never says yes to going out for some beers (but I’m not bitter).  This past Saturday, we had to drop my big-ass synthetic down comforter off at the cleaners to get all the sickies cleaned out of it, so we hit the Starbucks Drive-Thru on the way back to the dance studio for our usual White Chocolate Mocha’s.  Again I stared at the Starbucks logo and wondered WTF is it supposed to be?  Seriously, has anyone ever really looked at it?  It looks like some kind of mermaid that has split it’s tail in two and is lifting it’s tail(s) over it’s head like some kind of mermaid acrobatic whore.  See Exhibit 1 below:

I finally remembered to do a little research on the subject and apparently, the original Starbucks logo was of a twin-tailed mermaid, that was quite whore-like, letting her boobs hang out and such.  See Exhibit 2 below:

The company logo is a “twin-tailed mermaid, or siren as she’s known in Greek mythology”.[7] The logo has been streamlined over the years. In the first version, the Starbucks siren had s and a fully-visible double fish tail. In the second version, her breasts were covered by hair, but her navel was still visible, and the fish tail was cropped slightly. In the current version, her navel and breasts are not visible at all, and only vestiges remain of the fish tails. The original logo can still be seen on the Starbucks store in Seattle’s Pike Place Market and on Starbucks Anniversary Blend 1 lb coffee bags.

Apparently the logo had to be changed due to the amount of teachers that liked Starbucks coffee and them not being able to bring the x-rated coffee cups into their classrooms. 

But I am still confused as to why in the current logo, she is pulling her tails up over her head like some kind of freak straight out of HBO’s Real Sex - is this the typical twin-tailed mermaid stance?  If one is ever spotted out in the seas, do they ask you to wait before snapping the photo, so that they can get into “the” position?  Don’t get me wrong, this is in NO way going to stop me from going there to get my White Chocolate Mocha’s…it’s just a little weird.
