It’s Late-Watch a Video!

I had a really great post that I wanted to write today, to share the wonderful conversation that took place during my birthday dinner on Sunday, but it is already 10:00pm and I am just too tired to type it up, so that will have to be my post for tomorrow.  Did you watch SNL this past weekend?  I do not know why, but the Digital Short made me laugh so hard…

Cheese & Rice!

It is late and I have not posted for the day.  Not much exciting to talk about today.  Ashton is fighting pink eye - so that is fun.  Other than that, not a whole lot going on!  I will have a better post tomorrow.  Foshizzle!

Total Lunar Eclipse 2008

Lunar Eclipse 2008

Tomorrow night there will be a total lunar eclipse.  The partial eclipse starts 8:43pm, with the total eclipse being between 10:01pm and 10:43pm and the whole thing ends at 12:09am.  There will not be another total eclipse until December of 2010.  It is actually pretty neat.

A total eclipse of the Moon occurs during the night of Wednesday, February 20/21, 2008. The entire event is visible from South America and most of North America (on Feb. 20) as well as Western Europe, Africa, and western Asia (on Feb. 21). During a total lunar eclipse, the Moon’s disk can take on a dramatically colorful appearance from bright orange to blood red to dark brown and (rarely) very dark gray.

An eclipse of the Moon can only take place at Full Moon, and only if the Moon passes through some portion of Earth’s shadow. The shadow is actually composed of two cone-shaped parts, one nested inside the other. The outer shadow or penumbra is a zone where Earth blocks some (but not all) of the Sun’s rays. In contrast, the inner shadow or umbra is a region where Earth blocks all direct sunlight from reaching the Moon.

If only part of the Moon passes through the umbra, a partial eclipse is seen. However, if the entire Moon passes through the umbral shadow, then a total eclipse of the Moon occurs.

If you can stay up to check it out, definitely do so, it will be very pretty.  You can read more about it here.

It Got Late

I hate when time gets away from you and you look up and realize that it is already 10:30.  I have nothing exciting to talk about today.  I had to work on a schedule for work and I helped a friend with a website.  Ashton was in rare form today and had me laughing my butt off all day long.  That’s about it.  I am off to bed now.
