Weekend Plans, Britney and Reno911

I have a huge weekend full of a whole lotta nothing planned, how about you? Tonight we’re hanging at home. Tomorrow we have dance class (hopefully without any speeding tickets this time), then two birthday parties - one for Kaiden and one for Ashton, so Todd and I will have to tag team them. Dena and I are talking about taking Kaiden and Ethan to see that new movie Bridge to Terabithia, we will probably do that on Sunday. I think we are having the obligatory “Family Birthday Celebration Dinner” on Sunday night for my birthday, which is actually Tuesday, but we always do it on a weekend. I am going to be 31 - I am officially in my 30’s.

I guess once I typed it all out, my weekend isn’t so empty after all. Has anyone else been slightly overly obsessed with the whole Brittney Spears thing? I think that I agree with Heather over at Dooce, that she is totally suffering from post-partum depression. I was talking about that with someone earlier this week and being someone that suffered pretty bad with it, I feel really bad for her. Heather did a good job of summing up how it feels.

On a totally unrelated note, is anyone else excited to see this movie:

I love the Reno911 show and the previews for the movie look hilarious. That prosthetic butt that Niecy Nash/Deputy Raineesha Williams wears in the movie with the thong is HILARIOUS looking!!! Okay, I am done, hope everyone has a good weekend.

Crap, Crap & More Crap!

I feel like I have had nothing fantastic and wonderful to say lately, like everything in my life is just blah.  My marriage is still not fixed, my kids keep getting sick, I keep having to miss work to pick up and shuttle kids to the doctor - so I have not been to see my personal trainer in two weeks, since I am trying to make up missed time at work because of the kids, etc., etc.  The list goes on and on.

I did get my car back from getting fixed from the accident and everything looked fine, until I opened up the hatch in the back and saw that they obviously stored my busted bumber in the back while they were waiting for the new one and there was grease everywhere.  I had already switched both car seats back into my car from the rental when I saw it, and they were not able to spot treat it, so now they are sending a mobile detail unit to my work to detail and shampoo it to try and remove the grease - morons!  Who would store a nasty, greasy bumper inside the car, without at least putting something down or wrapping it in plastic?

As if my life is not shitty enough, I got another damn speeding ticket on Saturday on the way home from Dance Class with Kaiden.  The cop said that I was going 35 in a 25 - which is bullshit!  I saw him sitting there the whole time I was driving down the street, and watched my speed the whole time and I was NOT going 35.  What makes things worse is that a City Councel Member lives on this particular street and he was sick of people speeding, so he petitioned the city and had a law passed that anyone caught speeding on this street has to pay a minimum $200 fine (which does not include the actual speeding fine) and the ticket is not prepayable - you have to appear in court - SUCH CRAP!  I think I am going to fight it.  It would be one thing if he had been hiding and had actually caught me speeding, but he was in plain view and I was not speeding - because I knew he was there!

Where can you go to get an extreme life makeover?  I think I need one.

Happy Valentine’s Day

Hope that everyone is having a great Valentine’s Day.  Mine has been okay, although there really is nothing romantic or exciting about sitting at your desk at work compiling 12 months worth of historical weather data from the NOAA website to prove to the Owner/Architect of a new hotel that is being built that a particular General Contractor is justified in asking that 68 additional days be added to his contract because of inclement weather.

Jealous?  Yeah I thought so!

Thomas the Filthy-Mouthed, Druggy Tank Engine

I know a lot of you don’t have small children, but I do, so you’ll have to deal with a toddler post.  Do any of you watch Thomas the Tank Engine?  We are not HUGE fans of it, but it does come on Sprout at night while we are settling in, so Ashton usually watches it.  Every night I say to myself that the narrator’s voice sounds really familiar.  Well I finally paid attention to the credits - it’s George Carlin!!!

Now don’t get me wrong, I love George Carlin, in fact I took Todd to see him live for one of our first real dates and we had a blast - BUT…who thought that he would be a good narrator for Thomas the Tank Engine?  Who was sitting around the table brainstorming this one?  Well, he has to have a unique voice and he has to be able to offend someone at the drop of a hat, oh and drugs, make sure he has used A LOT of drugs in his life.  I think it is hilarious that they picked him for the job.  You know who it was before that?  Ringo Starr - another shining example.

You would think that with all this high dollar talent the show would at least be worth a shit and Thomas would not be such a whiney bitch!!!  No such luck!!!
